Goddards at Gidea Park have been treating our cats for the past 21 years and I can’t praise them enough. They are always helpful and compassionate. Richard has been amazing with the treatment he has given my cats over the years and you can tell that he genuinely cares for every animal. He’s always honest and I never feel it’s all about the money as some vets do. It’s purely down to his compassion and care to make the animals he treats better. They always go above and beyond as I’ve been there as the last appointment of the evening when someone has called with an emergency and they have stayed open late to see the animal. I would highly recommend them and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We’ve had a great experience so far with Richard at Goddard’s in Gidea Park, our puppy had a grass seed in her foot causing a big infection and we were able to get her in to see the vet really quickly, and he then operated the same day. Follow up has been great and we really trust the team. Richard provides no-nonsense, sensible and clear advice that we really value as first time dog owners.

Truly great vet! Have switched to this vet after reading google reviews and mentions about Richard. And haven’t been disappointed at all in the last 1.5 years although it’s pretty far from my home. Richard with his more the 20+ years of experience, is really helpful and passionate about curing animals. The reception and nurses are very caring and welcoming also. Not only Richard & the team treats and cares the pets; their interactions with you as pet owners also help you to get proper understanding of the situation, release stress and have confidence/patience on the treatment plan. Thanks to Richard for creating such a nice environment and system of treating animals.

I’ve always had a great experience with Richard as my vet. Appointments run on time, so I’m never left waiting around with my dog, which really helps keep things calm. What stands out most though, is that Richard genuinely puts my dog’s wellbeing first - he never pushes the most expensive or extreme option, he just gives honest, sensible advice that feels truly in my dog’s best interest. With this, I know my dog receives the best care and I trust Richard completely. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

We've been with Richard and his team for almost four years now, and we continue to be impressed by their care and professionalism. Just last week, we brought one of our cats in for her annual check-up and vaccination. While we were there, we mentioned a concern about another one of our cats who had some bleeding around his chin. Richard looked at a photo we showed him and immediately identified the issue as cat acne—from just the photo! He explained the condition clearly, reassured us it was treatable, and even made time for us to bring Okja in that same day for treatment. This was on a Saturday, and we could tell the practice was busy—the receptionist had just told someone on the phone they were fully booked—but Richard still found time for us without hesitation. When we arrived that morning, he was calmly handling an emergency with a cat, showing the same reassuring and compassionate demeanor we’ve come to appreciate. With six cats, we’ve had quite a few vet visits and every visit has been met with professionalism, kindness, and timely attention. We feel incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated and knowledgeable team caring for our cats.
