As a healthcare clinician myself and a very devoted dog mother I am writing this review in the hopes that this information will be helpful for other pet parents looking for superior veterinary care for their beloved fur babies, or for those who are considering registering their pets at a 24-hour veterinary hospital, such as this one.
After trying two other well-known veterinary practices in the Chelsea and Kensington area and finding the care lacklustre and the fees to be disproportionately high, by sheer chance and a medical emergency, I ended up in the care of Medivet Kensington approximately three years ago. Since this time practice partner, Dr Tom Roberts has been our steadfast family vet I find him to be incredibly caring, consistent, and knowledgeable but more importantly, without ego in that he’s not afraid to pick up the phone to a specialist or do further research if the situation requires, I find this trait so unique amongst healthcare providers.
A special shout out to Dr Saul Levy who, is also one of the partners and the resident ultrasound expert who is not afraid to pick up the phone to cover Tom when he’s on holidays, which is extremely reassuring for me as a paranoid vet parent.
All three of my babies have had surgery with the third partner, Dr Vishaal Corpaul with excellent surgical outcomes and no complications. In my opinion his ‘invisible stitching’ is on par with many Harley Street plastic surgeons.
I’d also like to mention the night vets, including Dr Rut Schmitt and Dr Polina Ioannidu who have been so caring and calming at times when I was absolutely beside myself due to various medical emergencies.
My babies actually love coming to the practice and happily strut up to the counter to greet the lovely reception and nursing staff. No practice gets everything right all of the time but these guys come very close. I cannot recommend them highly enough and the reassurance of being able to bring the dogs in at any time of the day or night is incredibly comforting.
I’m very excited about the plans for expansion at the practice and the fact that they will have a CT scanner on site which has many applications and means should my sausage dogs ever have back issues (god forbid) we won’t immediately have to travel far to get a scan and diagnosis. I am so grateful that we found Dr Tom Roberts and his colleagues. Your babies will be so well looked after by this practice.
