I took my Frenchie here for the first time, as we've previously been using Companion Care in Pets at Home, but I thought this might be a more affordable option. The reception and backroom staff were lovely and welcoming, which I appreciated.
However, I walked out feeling completely ripped off. The vet saw my dog for around 5 minutes, followed by another 5 minutes to prepare his prescription. The total bill came to £120 – this included the consultation and a two-week supply of medication (just half a tablet a day).
To my shock, the medication alone cost nearly £70. After checking online, I discovered I could have bought the same medication for less than a third of that price if I’d just taken the prescription and ordered it myself.
With all the recent news about the rising costs at vets and how pet owners are being taken advantage of, I felt compelled to share my experience. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
